This year, The Blackyard Collective hosted our 4th Annual Juneteenth Celebration Weekend.

June 19, 1865, was the day the last community of enslaved Americans in Galveston, TX received word that they had been freed from slavery. This was more than two years after President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863.

Four years ago on Juneteenth, The Blackyard Collective, met in person for the first time after the pandemic quarantine. For us, Juneteenth is a celebration of our freedom from the State ... as well as our freedom from addiction and alcoholism.

In honor of Juneteenth, we invite you to give in honor of Black freedom ... and to support the mission of The Blackyard Collective to build and sustain a community of care grounded in self-love and mutual respect for Black queer people recovering from addiction and alcoholism.

Your contribution of any amount will make a BIG impact, whether you donate $5 or $500. Every little bit helps. Your contribution will allow The Blackyard Collective to provide shared meals, social gatherings, and spiritual retreats that center Blackness, queerness, and wellness to people who really need it.
