Hello, My People! I know it feels like Hell has indeed frozen over. Outside, cities are being pounded with snow.
Inside, people are hot with anger, sadness, and grief—grief sharpened by another wave of violence at the hands of systems that were never meant to protect us. In Minneapolis and beyond, I.C.E. has rocked communities, murdering protestors, and sparking a fresh wave of outrage and protest—reminding us that in this country, the cold we bear isn’t just the winter air. Our bodies know the chill of state-sanctioned violence and the hollow ache of yet another family grieving a life taken. Amid all this, it may seem like the perfect time to isolate and seek solace in old behaviors and familiar habits that promise relief. I want you to remember and know this: You are not alone. Your anger is not in isolation. Your loneliness is temporary. Your danger and harm are real. You are not alone. Find an online meeting.
Find joy in the comfort of a movie, a book, or a hobby.
